SINGAPORE: INSIDE OUT'S IMMERSIVE AND MULTI-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN NYC/LONDON/BEIJING
Singapore: Inside Out is a travelling showcase celebrating Singapore's contemporary creative talents across disciplines, and traveled to Beijing, London and New York before returning to Singapore in 2015. It aims to broaden the international community's perception of Singapore by showcasing a spectrum of creative talents. As part of the SG50 events for Singapore's golden jubilee, the project was a reflection of the coming of age of Singapore creative talents and their achievements.
In June of 2015, the showcase moved to London. Strategically opening in London's hip (and some say hipster) Brick Lane, the project eschewed the traditional prestige-venue format of over-earnestly wowing audiences with showcase after showcase.
Some of Singapore's well known talents, such as pastry chef Janice Wong, poet Alvin Pang, and playwright Tan Kheng Hua were also a part of the travelling talent showcase.
Singapore: Inside Out made its third stop in New York at Madison Square Park, a 6.2-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Manhattan, in the Flatiron District.
After entertaining almost 50,000 visitors in total, Singapore: Inside Out was finally launched at home, at Tan Quee Lan Street in Bugis in December 2015.
